Choosing a Sydney Harbour cruise
Harbour cruises range from a one-hour sightseeing trip to a lunch cruise of more than two hours. Boats leave from Circular Quay and from King Street Wharf at Darling Harbour. The main choices are a single continuous ride, a hop-on hop-off pass that you can use for one or two days, and a meal on board.
All prices are adult fares in Australian dollars for 2026. Child fares apply from 4 to 15 years. Fuel surcharges and card fees are extra on some tickets, so the total at checkout can be higher.

Our picks: Sydney Harbour cruises
Our take: the sunset cruise with a drink is the pick for an evening. The morning or afternoon cruise has the fullest commentary, and the Circular Quay cruise is the cheapest way onto the water.

For most visitors, the one-hour guided cruise or the express trip is the simplest way to see the bridge and Opera House from the water. Choose a hop-on pass if you want to get off at Watsons Bay or Manly, and a lunch or tall ship cruise if the meal is part of the plan.
How the tickets differ
The same harbour, three different ways to buy it.
A single ride
The express sightseeing ticket covers one continuous trip with short stops on the way to Manly. When you leave the boat, the ticket is used up. Children aged 4 to 15 pay A$26. The extended harbour cruise costs A$57 for adults and A$29 for children.
Hop-on hop-off
You can leave the boat and board a later one while the pass is valid. A two-day pass covers consecutive calendar days. Children aged 4 to 15 pay A$32 for one day and A$43 for two days. Time-limited adult offers of A$42 and A$43 appear on the product page.
The stops
Stops include Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, Taronga Zoo, Shark Island, Watsons Bay and Manly. Boats at Darling Harbour use King Street Wharf. Do not assume that wharves at Darling Harbour and Barangaroo are interchangeable, and check the current timetable before you plan the return.
Lunch
The Harbour View Lunch with two courses is A$109, with a children's meal at A$49. The three-course Long Lunch is A$129, children A$59. These list prices run to 31 March 2027 and exclude special events.
The tall ship
The Twilight dinner on a tall ship lasts two hours and boards 15 minutes before it leaves Campbell's Cove. Adults pay A$119, children aged 4 to 14 pay A$55, and a family ticket for two adults and two children is A$273. See the dinner cruise page for the menu and evening options.
Extras, closures and fares
What to check on the checkout page.
Fuel surcharge
The express trip adds A$3 per person and whale watching A$5. Treat the ticket price as a starting point.
Card fees
Card payments can add 1.25 percent for Visa and Mastercard and 1 percent for PayPal. Other fees may apply elsewhere.
Holidays
Catered cruises can carry a 10 percent surcharge on public holidays. Regular sightseeing cruises do not run on 25 and 26 December 2026 or on 26 January 2027.
Season and sundown
Sunset cruises depend on the season. The same departure can be called Sunset, Winter Twilight or Summer Glow, and no time is guaranteed to match sundown.
The public ferry alternative
A public ferry is not a guided cruise, but it covers the same water. Opal fares for adults are A$7.35 for trips up to 9 km and A$9.20 beyond that, and the daily cap is A$9.65 from Friday to Sunday. See the ferries page and the Manly page.

Sydney Harbour cruises: frequently asked questions
How long is a Sydney Harbour cruise?
It depends on the product. A guided sightseeing trip lasts 1 hour, the express trip about 65 to 80 minutes, an extended harbour cruise 1.5 hours, and the tall ship dinner 2 hours. Do not assume one length for every cruise.
How much is a Sydney Harbour cruise?
In 2026, adult sightseeing tickets start at A$37 and the extended harbour cruise is A$57. Hop-on hop-off passes cost A$48 and A$68. Lunch cruises are A$109 and A$129.
Can I get on and off the boat?
On a hop-on hop-off pass, yes. On the express trip and other single-ride tickets, leaving the boat ends the ticket.
Where do the cruises leave from?
Most leave from Circular Quay, with Wharf 6 used for the express trip and whale cruises. Some trips leave from King Street Wharf at Darling Harbour. Your booking names the wharf.
Do cruises run every day?
Not all of them. The extended harbour cruise from Circular Quay runs Wednesday to Sunday, and regular sightseeing cruises do not run on 25 and 26 December 2026. Check the date you want.
Is sydneyharbour.org a cruise operator?
No. This is an independent guide with no connection to any cruise company.
